Big Brothers Big Sisters seeks to change the lives of children facing adversity for the better, forever. It can’t happen without the support of Bigs involved in the community. “I’m a Big” celebrates the commitment, achievements and supports the individuals that are Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Big Board Members, Big Volunteers or Big Donors making an impact in Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Along with bettering our Little’s lives with guidance and education, we pass on a sense of responsibility, accountability, and job skill knowledge to our Littles. Youth need to develop independent learning skills, as well as have the security in knowing help is there when needed. We nurture their dreams and build up their confidence levels while setting a good example with a positive attitude and active support.

Chad Van Horn, founder and managing partner of Van Horn Law Group in Fort Lauderdale, is honored to be named the 2017 Florida Big Brother of the Year by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County.
“For me, it made me a more well-rounded person. It made me realize what some of my weaknesses are and what some of my strengths are. Because when you are dealing with a little brother that just doesn’t know things that you know, it’s amazing how you can see him grow and you grow at the same time” said Chad Van Horn.
